History of battery development

Storage battery is a kind of chemical "power source" widely used in the world. It has advantages of stable voltage, safety and reliability, low price, wide application range, abundant raw materials and high recycling rate. Storage battery is the most widely used battery with the largest output in the world.

1. In 1800, the first battery in history—a power supply device that provided stable and continuous current—voltaic reactor was given to birth. Its birth is the beginning of modern civilized life. With it, the performance of electricity can be fully studied, and a series of major scientific inventions and discoveries can be realized. Scientists believe that the nineteenth century was the era of electricity, while the era started from the first year of the century.

2. The first lead-acid battery was first invented in 1860:

. Plante realized the first lead-acid battery using repeated charging-discharging to form active materials from lead plates, and using dilute sulfuric acid as the electrolyte.

3. In 1873, the charger for lead-acid batteries came into being:

With the advent of DC generators, lead-acid batteries have had reliable power since then.

4. In 1881, the technological basis for continuous production of lead-acid batteries was discovered:

Sellon invented the lead-antimony alloy grid; Faure invented the method of applying paste on lead to form an active material.

5. In 1882, the basic principle and process route of the charge-discharge cycle of lead-acid batteries were discovered:

Cladstone and Tribe proposed the vulcanization theory, and since then established a recognized chemical reaction formula.

6. In 1883, the reversible reaction of lead-acid battery charging and discharging had been mastered:

PbO2 + Pb + 2H2SO4 = 2PbSO4 + 2H2O.

7. The method of making polar plate was invented in 1886:

Udor and Lucas completed convenient method of forming positive electrode plate (electrolyte plus corrosive agent).。

8.The method of tubular plate was invented in 1910:

Exide company introduced tubular positive plate.

9.New grids and tubular hoses for pole plates were invented in 1935:

Haring and Thomas invented the lead-antimony alloy grid;

Slegler invented the glass filament tube to replace the hard rubber tube previously used for tube plates.

10.The valve-regulated lead-acid battery was invented in 1970:

Deviff created the first starved type valve-regulated battery.

11. After 1970, the lead-acid battery technology has developed with great leap:
